ABOUT

John Prabhudoss is a common sense conservative. He is married to his wife Suneetha. They have a teenage son. His father was a Pastor. John and his family has been living in Virginia since 2002. Prior to that he lived in Maryland for over 10 years.

John is an entrepreneur and also worked on public policy issues on Capitol Hill by collaborating with many charitable and religious organizations. John is a strong believer in the US Constitution and an uncompromising advocate for small businesses.

Over the past 30+ years, he has also opened and operated several small businesses, from software consulting to restaurant and retail businesses.

He has worked on public policy issues on Capitol Hill by collaborating with various evangelical and mainline church organizations besides Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist organizations on a range of issues including economic, financial, and social justice matters that affect American families besides issues affecting our national security interests.

He has traveled extensively to the Middle East, Asia and Africa, and studied how America’s domestic and foreign policies affect their lives and what kind of impact it has on American families back home.

John has led delegations on track II diplomatic missions to several disturbed regions. He also traveled to Iraq four times after the war. He devised a plan to help emerging Iraqi leaders cope with changes in their society and to help build democratic structures.

Born in 1965, John immigrated to the US after college in 1991 from India, to work with Christian organizations to focus on the challenges other Christian communities face on account of their faith.

Working with several elected officials over the past 30+ years, John has grown increasingly disappointed with their level of understanding or commitment to resolving issues impacting the interests of American families. He is disappointed that many elected officials are unwilling to talk to the other side. Many are more interested in promoting the agenda of some special interest groups rather than America’s interests. He believes, more and more Members of Congress are willing to compromise and not promote the values on which this nation was built.

So, in the winter of 2023, he announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for US Congress from Virginia’s 7th district. It was his first ever race seeking elected office.

During the campaign, he saw several issues afflicting our electoral process which the public is largely unaware of. He also noticed why experience and maturity are very important for those seeking public office. John saw how some inexperienced candidates were making immature decisions causing damage to this sacred process.

John is determined to continue the efforts in addressing those issues and to bring positive changes to the process.

As a leader embraced by diverse communities, John brings people together through common sense ideas.

John has written a book dealing with the intersection of faith, politics and history, set to be published this summer. The working title of the book is: The House on Upper West Side.
